What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Information sent in contact forms is emailed to [email protected]. The contact details of the visitor are also stored in Hubspot CRM for a variety of business purposes. Details of the HubSpot privacy policy can be found here.
Cookies
You can find out details about the cookies used on this site on our Cookie Policy page.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to track visitors to our website for the purposes of improving our site. The data that is collected is stored in the Google Analytics platform and is anonymised; it cannot identify you as an individual. This data may be used for marketing purposes in the future to understand the demographics and preferences of our audience.
HubSpot Analytics
We use Hubspot to track visitors and usage of our website to help improve the overall customer experience. The data collected by Hubspot cannot identify you personally, unless you have accepted cookies, AND you have entered your details into the website via a form or chat session. Then, your information may be used so we can understand what site content is relevant to you, and also tailor your experience on our site by delivering more relevant content.
Facebook Pixel
We use Facebook Pixels to track visitors to our website for the purposes of marketing. This enables us to measure the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes. The data collected in this way is anonymous to us and we do not see the personal data of individual users. Facebook may link this information to your Facebook account and also use it for its own promotional purposes, in accordance with Facebook’s Data Usage Policy https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/
Who we share your data with
We share anonymised analytics data with Google. This data cannot identify you as an individual.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely, until you instruct us to destroy it. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you send us a message using the contact form or interact with our site using chat, this information will be retained indefinitely, until you instruct us to destroy it.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information, except for passwords.
